Pandemic Diaries - March 22, 2020

Thoughts from March 22, 2020

It’s important to have lipstick handy because of the video calls. I need Jane Jetson’s face mask that she wore for video calls.

Hanging out with friends over drinks and video calls. Love that friends wear whatever they want to wear – bear costumes, favorite hats, PJs with cardigans.

Cleaning out the drawers and shelves you meant to clean out.

Teens practicing social isolation from their families by being locked in their bedrooms and on FaceTime with everyone else.

Wondering why people don’t buy toilet bowl cleaner in the same quantity as toilet paper.

We needed to be isolated to realize we’re connected.

We need to be witnesses to this change in the earth. We need to feel the discomfort.

We feel anger and frustration at the changes around us. We’ve revolted and marched on the streets. Did the earth feel the stampede of feet marching across the world? Our spirits were on fire for so long.

Had this virus started in Italy, we would’ve said “Pray for Italy” but no one said “Pray for China.” What if we had done that.

It is not us against the world.

Don’t forget to open your door to check for packages.  Since no one is going out, we didn’t see a big box was delivered and waiting on our doorstep. I thought it was due Friday, but when I checked the status, it said delivered. Thankfully it didn’t rain today!!
