Pandemic Diaries - Intro

The world is changing yet it's on hold.

March 1st was an amazing day as my co-founders of Dandelion Revolution Press and I congregated for 10 hours to finalize and edit our short fiction anthology, website, media plan, and acknowledged our contributors.

March 8th we launched our e-book as planned, and we were on pins and needles until the paperback version was confirmed on March 10th to be on Amazon. We kicked off our full social media blitz, designed and ordered promotional material. Our goal was to be ready for a literary event on Friday March 13th.

Midweek, everything screeched to a halt. Events were cancelled, schools were closed, I had to fetch my daughter from college and everyone was working from home. Her school said dorms are open and we don't need to take everything, so we left stuff for when they reopen in April.

We stood in line at food stores because we didn't know how long they would be open. My husband had been shopping for 3 weeks before then, so it seemed like a lot was covered. I chatted with people in line, watch each other's carts as we ran to get items and shared coupons with them. We were all in this together.

All of sudden priorities changed and we're trying to find out more information on what to do and what is happening. We still meet friends at parks and cafes to make sure we catch up.

We are all in this together, though we are apart.
